Guest guest
As you know, I've only just begun listening to IOWL and am on episode twenty. But what stuck with me this week was only shopping the " perimeter " of the grocery store. A couple of things happened. First, I had to plan my meals ahead of time, rather than wandering aimlessly picking up whatever looked good, and whatever was on sale. Second, I discovered things I didn't know were there, did you know there were " Sandwhich thins " bread with only 100 calories, I was so happy!. Third, I was successful and am even looking forward to some of the meals I have planned. The funny thing is that my significant other and I shop at the same time. He eats pretty much the same thing every week and is in and out of the store in almost no time and waits for me in the car. This week, we hit the check-out line at exactly the same time. Even though the Bakery is at the perimeter of the check-out line, I was able to run right past the bakery, right to check out so we could check out togeether, and I of healthy and satisfying food for the week. (OK, so I had to go down two aisles, one for spices, the other for frozen vegetables, microwave steamer bags are just the best invention ever, especially for broccoli).
