Guest guest
When initially diagnosed My Cholesterol was simply out of control. My LDL was 160-ish, my HDL was 18, my Triglycerides were in the 650's. I was prescribed Crestor and Norvasc. I also began taking Fish Oil at a rate of 1200mg at bed time with 80mg aspirin. My doctor said that 80mg Aspirin was useless and told me to increase the dose to 250mg. That regiment decreased my Cholesterol down to LDL 122, HDL up to 28, Triglycerides to 285. I had very little movement for a year so decided it was time to be a little more aggressive. I started a Niacin regiment (again at bed time) and only had limited flushing starting with 100mg, then 250mg twice per day, then 800mg at bed, then 1000mg, and finally 1500mg at bed time. This brought my numbers in at LDL 96, HDL 32, and Triglycerides to 262. Still not the results I wanted. I had a nasty time with Niacin out of the blue and decided that maybe that was not the path I needed to be on. Instead I decided to invest in more supplementation and began Cholest-off once per day at bed. (catch up time! Cholest-off 1800mg, Crestor 20mg, Norvasc 5mg, Aspirin 250mg, Fish Oil 1200mg.) My next labs were better but not significantly, so more investments were needed. I did some more research and found a few compounds I wanted to try, both with incredible skepticism from my doctor (who rules btw)but I purchased them from Houston Buyers Club. Sytrinol and Peak ATP. I take Sytrinol at bed time and Peak ATP in the morning. Sytrinol apparently works on Cholesterol in a different manner than Crestor. I really am not sure what Peak ATP does other than it gives me energy. I had labs a month ago (after being on my new regiment for 4 months) and my doctor and I are both amazed by the results. My LDL is 28, my HDL 86, my triglycerides 122. I have not changed eating habits in anyway other than using a Toddy for coffee instead of my coffee maker (which does reduce the amount of cholesterol in coffee but I can't see that it would make such a big impact considering I drink 3-4 cups per day.) My doctor reran my tests as he thought the labs possibly made a mistake, and even without fasting, the results were 2-3 points higher per indicator (I had 1 cup of coffee with light cream before my appointment.) I have not changed my exercise routine (or lack there of one) but plan on getting a gym membership soonish. I have also lost 9 pounds and my pants are looser but have not dropped a pant size. In another 3 months when I get my lab results we are going to look at possibly removing Crestor from my regiment as my supplements all cost (combined) for a 60 day supply what my Crestor costs on a monthly basis. I know that Cholesterol issues are an ongoing problem for most of us so I wanted to write this in the hopes that it encourages others not to give up on finding what works for their bodies.
