Guest guest
Is she getting SCIG or IVIG? My son's Immunologist told us while Ryder is getting SCIG that he shouldn't get any vaccines (they are suggesting flu though because the current SCIG doesn't all have H1N1 antibodies since it comes from plasma donated before it was vaccinated against). They told me even if Ryder was not on SCIG that he should not receive any live vaccines. > > Hi there, > > If your child does not have the ability to produce anti-bodies needed to > make the vaccines effective, should they still be vaccinated? Guest guest
My opinion is no your child should not be vaccinated if they cannot produce antibodies to make the vaccine effective. What would be the point? Additionally, you would be exposing your child to contaminants in vaccines for no purpose. Your child qualifies for a medical exemption. Have your doctor fill out the form and file it the same way you would his vaccine record with the school.
