Guest guest
Hi -- I know of three, two of them I've used. Karl , MD is a practicing homeopath. 713-621-3184 He's VERY good, but you'll have to file your own insurance claims. Pharo, DO. She's great and gave me medical vaccine exemptions for the kids. 713-802-1177. I can't find the other name and number. You might search the archives, because I had posted her name and office number back in March I think. PS Glad Andy is working out for you. She's really great. I'm surprised that she's using Bioset as opposed to NAET. She's commented to me before that the Bioset doesn't seem to hold as well. You may want to ask her about it. OT -- looking for a decent doctor I was wondering if anyone could recommend a medical doctor and/or pediatrician in the Houston area that is similar to a DO (MD plus training in alternative medicine). I am losing my confidence and trust in the medical community very quickly. I have been noticing recently how quick they are to prescribe medication the minute you open your mouth, and i am tired of their arrogance and narrow-mindedness. You can email me at ginam@... When we used to live in Washington state, > they had a lot of them and they were called D.O.s (can't remember of what it > stands for)... > Definition of D.O. - Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine: Osteopathic medicine is a distinctive form of medical practice in the United States. Osteopathic medicine provides all of the benefits of modern medicine including prescription drugs, surgery, and the use of technology to diagnose disease and evaluate injury. It also offers the added benefit of hands-on diagnosis and treatment through a system of therapy known as osteopathic manipulative medicine. Osteopathic Medicine emphasizes helping each person achieve a high level of wellness by focusing on health education, injury prevention and disease prevention. Osteopathic medicine was founded in the late 1800s in Kirksville, Missouri by Still, M.D., who felt that the medical practices of the day often caused more harm than good. After losing members of his immediate family to meningitis, Still focused on developing a system of medical care that would promote the body's innate ability to heal itself. He called his system of medicine osteopathy, now known as osteopathic medicine. Osteopathic physicians, also known as D.O.s, work in partnership with their patients. They consider the impact that lifestyle and community have on the health of each individual, and they work to erase barriers to good health. D.O.s are licensed to practice the full scope of medicine in all 50 states. Wasn't Dr. Kern a D.O.? you might try searching the archives for her name. Guest guest
I have heard of Dr. kern, but also heard of some bad pretty experiences with her office/staff. Does anyone know if the situation has changed? Is she following with DAN protocols? I live within 4 miles from her office but never been. Guest guest
Besides the DAN list at http://www.autism.com/ari, the American College for Advancement in Medicine is a great place to check: http://acam.org. These are physicians who are also trained in approaches such as chelation, nutrition, orthomolecular medicine, and much, much more. The " doctor find " facility is at http://www.acam.org/dr_search/. There is also the American Academy of Environmental Medicine's doctor-find at http://www.aaem.com/referable_physicians.htm. Expertise is listed separately for each doc, and you see things like nutrition and chelation and hyperbaric medicine among them. J.
