Guest guest
I heard him speak at a TxABA special interest group last February, called the ABCs of ABA. I believe he is working with Domonique Randall at the Shape of Behavior. He seemed like a smart, decent and qualified person when he was addressing this group of educators, parents and professionals, but I personally have no experience with him. Guest guest
He was the research director at TSOB until a month or two ago. I believe he has set up his own clinic in northwest Houston. He has a strong background in research and his area of expertise is problem behaviors. He published recently in the Journal of Experimental Analysis Behavior. Geraldine Greg Leiving, BCBA > I am wondering if anyone has heard of this guy or has any experience with > him. Guest guest
This is his bio from the May FEAT-Houston newsletter. A. Lieving, Ph.D. - Received BA in psychology from West Virginia University in 1996 - Received MA in psychology and behavior analysis from the Behavior Analysis Doctoral Program at West Virginia University in 1998 - Received Ph.D. in psychology and behavior analysis from the Behavior Analysis Doctoral Program at West Virginia University in 2000 (dissertation appeared recently in the Sept. 2003 issue of the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior) - Spent his undergraduate and graduate career as a basic researcher in animal learning, and sought out opportunities to translate and apply basic principles to problems of social significance - Accepted a clinical research fellowship at the s Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics from 2000-2003, working at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a world-renowned center for the treatment of severe behavior problems with children with developmental disabilities and brain trauma. -Learned to apply behavioral principles with children with autism and other developmental disabilities from some of the leaders in the field of applied behavior analysis. - Arrived in Houston seven months ago, and is currently the Research Director of The Shape of Behavior, Inc., where he seeks to further expand his repertoire to the application of behavior analysis to finding behavioral solutions to problems of educational and social development with children diagnosed with autism. He is probably one of the best local experts in Functional Behavior Assessments and problem behavior. He spoke at the May at the FEAT-Houston meeting. I know one person who was very pleased with his assessment of her daughter's problematic and self-abusive behaviors. He just set up his own shop, so not sure how that will be. It seems that there are always a few growing pains at first, but it can be quite rewarding to be a part of a new clinic as well. Greg Leiving, BCBA I am wondering if anyone has heard of this guy or has any experience with him. He is from West Virginia, but is now living in Houston. I am asking for a friend who has kids with Aspergers and LOTS of behavioral problems. Thanks!
