Guest guest
Hi all, Was wondering if I could get some input from you all as I am trying to figure out where to move in order to provide my son, 14 yrs old, with the best high school experience. I can move anywhere as long as it's within the State of Georgia. Not really wanting Atlanta...leaning toward Savannah. Any info. is appreciated. -
Guest guest
Can you describe you son and what type of program you are looking for (i.e. college prep/community based)? I work at an amazing high school but it is in Roswell - just north of Atlanta. 8:00? 8:25? 8:40? Find a flick in no time with the Search movie showtime shortcut. Guest guest
Then come on to Centennial High School in Roswell! I cannot tell you what an amazing envrinment it is! I work the best teachers hands down. They all love what they do and love students. Just to give you an inkling - right now we have a student who has become homeless. His father is an alcoholic and Adult Protective Services are involved. (We are trying to get the Regional Board to help but so far they are just saying APS must do everything). Anyway, the teachers along with the support of the administraion are taking care of this student (he has CP and is in a wheelchair). Not only are they taking him into their homes but they are loving having him there! That was just to tell you about their hearts. Our program is also wonderful and I feel forward thinking. We are always pushing students to reach their full potential. We have an incredible peer facilitator program as well as a club that involves students with special needs and students who are typical (PALS club). I set up the jobsite program as well as help families transition to the next step after high school. We have every type of jobsite imaginable - we have a transition class for students who are nearing graduation that have supported employment as their goal. We also offer Project Search at North Fulton Hospital in the student's last year if appropriate. I could go on and on. Just trust me not only as a teacher but as a parent - it is a great place to be! Need Mail bonding?Go to the Q&A for great tips from Answers users.
