Guest guest
Morning, ! Sounds like you are having a wonderful, joyful, mindful naturally slender today. My wish for myself! LOL! Will match you on the 2 back exercises, chest, biceps and abs. I will naturally get all of that in in my little class this morning but I will mindfully do something later today for each muscle group. You can't know how much you are helping me! and how much I appreciate it. Thank you again and continue to have a wonderful day! Wynn [insideoutweightlos s] Re: Intro, RUNNERS GROUP and itunes Hi all, I may want to join your little running support group! And I totally agree about the subject line suggestion (being a librarian in training ) I am 54, just out of grad school (where I was home, grazing all the time!), lost about 20 pounds on Weight Watchers, while also listening to IOWL, since October, but have plateau'd at 190 or so. I think the tracking was like a little fad; I have not sustained that habit. My goal is to be 5'8 and 160-164. I remember how athletic and sexy I felt at my right weight, but I am feeling so much better than when I was 20 pounds heavier that I think I've become complacent and just started to enjoy this weight. Somehow the monthly cost of $40 is not enough of an away motivator for me! The WW program won't be free till I reach that oh so elusive goal. My own two cents re: iTunes running programs: I did start a great couch to 5K program called Get Running -- wonderfully simple to use, and you can listen to your own music.(Has some visuals, if you have iPod touch). A very encouraging female British voice breaks in, pausing your music, and lets you know when to walk and when to run as you are revving it up. (If you use iTunes, you might be able to find my remix that I created called Uptempo---I put together 15 or 16 songs where the tempo starts out walking speed and gradually increases, tho it's not perfect, but I have to have music I enjoy!!) I had got to the third week or so (another fad?) and had noted amazing progress...then got tired of the discipline. I have only been doing it on the treadmill at the gym to control the incline and so it would be softer on my joints. I would do it after yoga. Now I've reverted to socializing after yoga or pilates or going home to have lunch. Maybe with beautiful spring here, I should find a nearby track or flat area to try the walk/run program. It's a very individual way of starting to run so I doubt I would find a buddy. But maybe on here, I will find some encouragement, if you accept a beginning runner! I've never run over 2-3 miles in my life, but would be very satisfied to achieve 2 miles at this point. I have a dog who loves to run with me (as long as she gets her sniffing out of the way first). O. PS I might try the shoe fitting suggestion as well! > > I just want to through my two cents in, I like the Nike+ system and use it > quite a bit. It's can be very motivational. I started with the Couch to > 5k program that you can find on coolrunnings. com. I don't run very fast > by any means, I call it a slog (slow jog). Oh, and go get fitted for > shoes if you can. It's really fun and they watch your gait and recommend > shoes that will work the best for you and the way you walk/run. > > You can do this! > > ------------ --------- --------- ------ Copyright 2005-2007.
