Guest guest
Mine is on tape too and I want it on DVD. I am LOL at the lies!!! The first two especially but most of the others too! The results in 10 workouts though wasn't a lie for me!!! I tested it a couple of years ago, doing Maximum Body Shaping for 10 workouts over about 2 weeks, hoping to prove the claim wrong but I REALLY did see results!! I was shocked! That's why I'm doing the rotation I am now. I get great results from The FIRM, quickly too, and I really want my body to get back to where it was last spring, before I took about 6 months off from regular workouts (2 or 3 for post-surgery and the rest from just not making it a priority). Too funny though, a! Thanks!!! Re: Fat Blaster Wow! I love that one too. I'll have to get it on DVD eventually. Don't ever listen to those Firm girls . They lie to you. Famous lies are:"we're going to bring the heart rate down""One last set""You'll see results in 10 workouts""You can workout in a leotard without it riding up""Yes my hair does stay this perfect for a whole hour of cardio""This is effortless, as you can tell by my barbie doll smile";-)a>> I finally found a FIRM cardio workout that I actually really, truly enjoy doing! I've done this once before but forgot how much I liked it! There is floor, step and 4-limbed aerobic segments and all of them are fairly short so if you're getting sick of one (or too tired) you can keep going once you realize they don't last forever. It is led by Allie Strickland, Kay and Tucker, each taking turns with different routines. They all build a routine in the same way, adding on slowly and eventually taking it from the top on one side and then doing the same on the other. Perfect for the choreography-impaired, like me. The cardio is very simple too so I was able to follow along with almost all the routines really well the first time or two through. By the time I got to the 2nd side especially I was doing really well (except 's step section for some reason). Some of the routines appear in other FIRM workouts recently, including yesterday's Total Body Shaping Mix which had the very first one in this workout (a floor routine with Allie). I started doing it and thought to myself, I just did this yesterday, didn't I? And then as it went on I became sure of it. That was fine though since I can always use more practice and it gave me more confidence for the rest (I always approach FIRM cardio with dread). > > There's about 30 minutes of cardio, then you do some core work and then abs, then stretch for a total of about 45 minutes. I really like the abs in this one. It works everything and isn't killer hard but moves at a relentless pace with some fun, interesting exercises. The music in this workout is very upbeat and all 3 instructors seem to cue very well. cracks me up though. She always seems SO INTENSE, like your life depends on putting everything into each movement! She's very good but just a little too much for me in that respect. Allie was awesome and when I grow up I really want 's stomach.> > One thing that must be pointed out, yet again, when Allie or anyone else says "Time for low impact aerobics" do not believe her! There was a ton of jumping in the "low impact aerobics" routines and the rest of it too, including plyo jumps, single and double jumping jacks, bunny hops and others. No modifier is shown and beginners are not even mentioned in this workout so I doubt beginners would want to attempt it. I used the 8" portion of my fanny lifter for the step routines and 3 lb dumbbells for 4-limb and got a very good calorie burn. I was in my zone for about half of the cardio section (which includes a warmup) but my heart rate went as high as 173 (!) so I know I was way out of my zone for some of it too. It felt great though!> > Tomorrow is officially a rest day on the rotation schedule. I am thinking I want to try and do a short yoga, or, Heaven help me, pilates workout though just to keep it light but try a virgin workout so I can try and declutter my shelves a bit more. (Sorry Donna, but I have not yet found the love in pilates that you have, I'm still willing to see if I do though so that's why I'm considering doing one tomorrow). I have a TON to do between now & Sunday though since I'm hosting my first Easter dinner so it is possible I might just really rest instead. We'll see what I finish tonight first.> > >

Guest guest
I did Fat Blaster with Allie, & today. I've done this one quite a few times but for some reason I was getting really messed up on 's and 's step sections, I'm not sure why though. They are very repetitive too so you'd think I could get it but not today. Oh well. This is a lower intensity cardio workout (as compared with Super Cardio at least) and I enjoy it overall. does drive me a bit nuts in it. She cues very well but she sounds like every cue is SO IMPORTANT or something like that, just with very heavy emphasis and not natural at all. Allie lies a lot in it too. She or someone says, "Prepare your space for low impact" and the next thing you know you're doing plyo jumps and bunny hops! The abs section is very good. Not excruciating but not easy at all either and a good mix of exercises. I'm off to our church's Mother Daughter Banquet in a few and then tomorrow is a scheduled rest day. That worked out very well with tomorrow being Mother's Day (and us doing church in the morning, then dinner at my mother-in-law's in the afternoon then youth group for my son in the evening)! I hope all the moms & fur moms have fantastic days tomorrow!

Guest guest
I did this one ages ago and remember REALLY liking it. Congrats on the normal mammogram! What a relief! YAY!!!HugsOn Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 9:21 AM, <nancydewolf@...> wrote: Today Allie, , and I all worked out together in my teeny tiny exercise room doing Fat Blaster. I really like this workout except 's step section where she keeps doing straddles and variations on them. I don't mind straddles or over the top but for some reason this section totally boggles my brain. The funny thing is, it is VERY repetitive but for some reason, I just don't get it well. I thought part of the problem was that she does delt lifts with them (no weights) and my arms and legs didn't seem to get it but I tried it without the arms and it wasn't a lot better! I've done better and worse other times through that so I'll chalk it up to distraction (which I was) today. I also listened carefully to the calls for " low impact " and sure enough, Allie says, " Low impact is next " and almost immediately goes into plyo jumps and bunny hops. Since when is THAT low impact? Too silly. I noticed later in the workout one of them says simply " Aerobics is next " and there was lots of high impact in that one. I used the 6 " step but I think next time I might try this with the 8 " step. It is a fun workout but not very intense at all and I hard time keeping my heart rate up in many parts. It is great for days I don't feel like working super hard though and still get a good workout from it. There's a nice abs section at the end too. It starts out really basic and ramps up. It isn't super hard but still decent enough so that you feel like you did something good for yourself when you're done. I noticed too that now that I like in Fat Blasting Cardio I didn't mind her at all in this one (I used to). Interesting. I had my yearly mammogram today too and thankfully, all is still well (6 years 5 months and counting)!
