Guest guest
Avoid " Combo Pills " to Save Money on Prescriptions They're uncommon but there are prescription medications that are two or more separate drugs combined into one pill or capsule. If this applies to you a lot of money can be saved by having your doctor instead prescribe the individual drugs. http://www.kevinmd.com/blog/2010/07/combo-pills-save-patients-money.html
Guest guest
We have AZT, Viramune and abacavir as generics now. Soon, Sustiva will become generic. My understanding is that generics don't start out as being much cheaper than brand name drugs, in part because a specific generic manufacturer get exclusive rights to manufacture for a while. Once competition becomes possible (assuming there are interested competitors), then the prices may go down drastically. Of course, wholesale price does not reflect the true price paid by ADAP, prisons, etc., where prices are negotiated and deeply discounted in most cases.
