Guest guest
A couple of thoughts......did you try Gammagard for her subq? Or was it the Hizentra?? Seems to be better tolerated since it is less concentrated. Also is she on a Medicare Advantage plan such as GH or United Health Care or is she on straight Medicare? Copays can be less on the Advantage Plans ( I am on Medicare too) Also has she applied to Medicaid to get it as a secondary for what Medicare does not cover. She may and may not be eligible. I would expect that she will also be eligible for insurance when she gets a job as long as she works enough hours. Once she starts making a certain amount of money she will not be eligible for her her Social Security. (I am not sure you were wanting to hear that but I am sure you have been looking at the cutoffs etc. ) Usually it is an additional $13k per year over her payment) I am an RN as well and am struggling to know what to do . My son Lucas is 16 with CVID and if I go back to work then he loses his health insurance in WA state. I just want to work for my " mental health " reasons. I have health issues that make it difficult but I REALLY want to work. I am not sure how it will work for him in the future. I want him to go to college and work but what will happen with Health insurance. That is why the ACA and no preexisting condition clause for 2014 is going to be ESSENTIAL for our kids futures. She is going to be finishing nursing school and wants to go to work but will not be able to afford what her insurance won't pay for her treatments. She is still getting ivig treatments every 14 days. Her body would not accept sub Q. Does anyone have any ideas or things we can do to keep her on Medicare or other programs that will help with what insurance doesn't cover. I kept telling her to do what she wants to do with her life and when it comes time to pay for treatments it will just be another bridge to cross. Well that bridge will be here in December so now I am looking for ideas to not fall of that bridge. Your ideas or knowledge would be so appreciated Thank You, Lorri Kraft (22) CVID
