Guest guest
I agree with Marci!!!! This is awful. How can a dr be so uncaring? All she cares about is money in her pocket it sounds like. I would switch peds immediately and like Marci said..make sure to let her know why and i would report her. That doesn't sound too legal to me!! This person needs to be reported to the American Academy of Pediatrics and any other entity that regulates doctors and pediatricians. They should be in the business of treating children - PERIOD!! Yes, they are running a business, but they have all sworn an oath to be a doctor FIRST! They need to let their office staff handle the business part. I cannot believe this person! If you switch peds (and I think you should) then make sure this ped knows that you are switching because of her UNETHICAL practices and make sure she knows that you are reporting her as well. I'm sorry, but she has no right to deny medical treatment to your daughter because she is concerned about keeping patients on the "books". Unbelievable! I thought she was a clumsy child. , I cannot believe the audacity of that ped- and she was so blunt with her stupidity that I really hope you nail her with a good dose of humanity! BTW, my co-worker has a daughter that is about 1 1/2 yrs old- she has the foot that turns inward, but also bowlegs, but she turns her foot inward and it makes her trip. She just saw a specialist and they took x-rays. They haven't gone for the follow up- but I'll keep you posted on the side so maybe you can get an idea- even though I KNOW you will be demanding that referral for a specialist! Guest guest
, That's what I am trying to find out.. Do I have a LEGAL right to request and receive a referral to a specialist.. Guest guest
Hi Marci, Thank you!! Today so far I've called the head of pediatrics and my ins company. She really didn't have any right to deny my request for a referral. The ins company also said that she'll say she denied it b/c my daughter has only been seen there, once in 2000 and once in 2001. I was going to a different doctor. She is up to date on all of her shots. She is due for a physical, she just doesn't get sick. Maybe this doc thinks I should bring her in a few times a year just for the hell of it?? I can't wait to hear back from the head of pediatrics!! I'll let you know what happens!! > YOU GO GIRL!!!
