Interesting - Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic used with ASD but usually for sleep issues or agitation. The mGluR5 system is clearly affected in FRAX and some other ASD condtions and other meds like MPEP are showing good effects... This study in Neurotherapeutics is a review with two small open-label case series reports one ASD and one FRAX. Really needs a proper clinical trial and only likely to benefit those with abnormal glutamate metabolism.Problems: Around 1 in 5 get Parkinsonian side-effects; slight weight gain (@3lbs), around 1 in 3 significantly sedated.KenFrom: natasa778
