My grandaughter Dovie just called,she is a senior this year and her grade is a 4.0,,,,now how cool is that??? I raised her for the first 11 1/2yrs of her life,well Ruthie and I did.She has gone thru some hard stuff.She started living with her dad for the first time ever when she was a sphomore. It is so hard for me to believe she is graduating this year.I remember her daddy bringing her to me asking if I would take care of her.Her mom went to get some milk when she was 6mths old and never came back into her life until she was 11.That is all water under the bridge now.I just had to tell someone about her grade level. Gotta get ready for church so everyone have a blessed nite. Bobbe you and [wash]know my prayers will be with you both Fri. I know my mom would be proud that someone with the same name was doing so well! And while you are at it, pat yourself on the back, Pat. Later academic success comes on the back of earlier learning-before the age of 10. So, you deserve a break today! Go eat a Kit-kat bar. It is so obvious that your care and foundation you laid for Dovie in the first 11 1/2 years has stood her in good stead through some difficult times. Dovie should be very proud... and YOU deserve to preen a little (or a lot)... too!
