Guest guest
I'm sharing this in case it helps any one as there have been quite a few posts about " unexplained " weight losses and gains. None of this is scientific, it's just how I have come to reason things. I weight most days. I used to wish I didn't and asked here for advice. I got great advice, but I didn't take it. I realised I must be getting something out of it! My weight varies everyday - up and down 2-2.5 lbs. I know this can not be actually fat coming or going. I reason that it can be because I have eaten more volume and fibre, or it could be because I have had an alcholic drink and am holding more water to compensate. I sometimes think of them as " poo pounds " . Sorry to share that, but this is a safe space. If I have eaten more volume for a couple of days, it is in me, and it will take its time to come through, even if it were calorie free veggies. I am using my daily weigh in to monitor trends. Once a week is too long a gap for me and just one weigh without reference points could lead me to think I have gained or lost when I haven't. So I would just encourage anyone to monitor their weight over time - even if the actually weighing points are daily. This has helped me keep the scales as my friend and not something I fear and which can dictate my mood that day. Best wishes Viv
