Guest guest Posted April 25, 2001 Report Share Posted April 25, 2001 I measured 8 week progress this morning and I am mostly pleased. I am posting it here for my record and accountability. Using all 4 caliper measurements, my body fat is 11.92%, down 4.48% from day 1. So according to the 11.92% measurement, I have lost 9.1 lbs of fat and 0.9 lbs of muscle. I doubt that I lost muscle and it is likely the margin of error for body fat. Just to be safe I may increase my calories a little. My 12 week goal is to get down to 8%. The first 4 weeks I lost 1.2%, and the second 4 weeks, I have lost 3.28% fat for a total of 4.48% for 8 weeks. The fat loss does appear to be gaining momentum. I really think I can meet my goal of 8% or come very close. Once I reach that goal, I will be interested in gaining muscle and will be seeking advice at that point about adjusting my calories to gain muscle. As far as inches, since the beginning, I have lost: Waist- 5 inches (3.5 at 4 weeks and 1.5 more at 8 weeks) Hips- 1.5 inches (0.5 at 4 weeks and 1.0 more at 8 weeks) Thigh-0 Calves-0.5 inches Chest-0.75 inches Neck-0.25 inches Forearm-0 Upper arm-GAINED 1 inch Everyone is different.
