Guest guest
Can you tell me where you found the fresh turmeric? I've searched everywhere and can't find any. Thanks. Also has anyone successfully added fresh turmeric to 2nd ferment KT? Balinese make the most divine turmeric & ginger drink and I have a yearning for turmeric KT. I'm experimenting at present with freshly grated organic turmeric on same dose as I would fresh ginger. Hari Aum Bron

Guest guest
Hi, Bron. I don't know anything about ginger, but am interested in the turmeric/ginger drink. Is this what you are thinking about? http://sajenjamu.com/default.aspx BTW, many folks might not realize it, but turmeric IS a type of ginger, just not the edible ginger we usually think about... I have added ginger to kombucha w/ much success; makes it quite carbonated. (You can use fresh slices, dried, candied, ginger extract/tincture, syrup, etc.) I have only seen turmeric in powdered form, and one listmember mentioned that powdered ginger was a total pain in kombucha. (I'm thinking texture when drinking might be an issue.) As I'm always up for trying something different, does anyone know of a readily available source of tumeric in some form other than powder? Guest guest
hello, Vicki!! I am so excited, this is good news, since ginger and turmeric are roots, and can be found in root, and dried forms, shavings could go into second ferment, and maybe even dry coconut flakes!! yes!! Peace.. Guest guest
wow! I'm so happy that you can access fresh turmeric Jahet - it's the bomb hahahaha. when I go to Bali I have a fresh turmeric, ginger, lime and and honey drink every morning before breakfast and its' divine! When I made up a batch of this recently, I suddenly thought, now why couldn't I add that to my KT 2nd ferment? judging by the feedback I've hit on a winner - woooohooooo. In the meantime I have added sweet KT to my turmeric drink minus the honey and it was pretty darn good. Will keep you posted what my CB 2nd ferment with fresh turmeric tastes like. AND I am going to try fresh grated coconut - we have a tree in our yard! I loooooooooooove coconut and look forward to getting more info on the coconut diet. hari aum Bron > > > > > > Can you tell me where you found the fresh turmeric? Guest guest
hi, , well there are probably many ways to store.. if you have a cold cellar it will not need to be in fridge, i put mine in a tray my ginger root comes on, it is organic, not plastic, but keep top cellofaned, and in fridge, i use up alot though, lovely saffron color, i like in tofussramble with veggies or just tea.. and now i am also starting a batch of second ferment KT with. Sort of like to mix in sarsaparilla.. or just make like a mixupgingerbrew.. peace jahjet it is very beneficial supposedt to shrink tumors, and keep swelling down in arthrytis..etc > > > > > > Can you tell me where you found the fresh turmeric?
