Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My PowerFit Harmony workouts arrived yesterday and the timing was perfect. I wanted to do something a little lighter today - yesterdays FIRM workout left my back REALLY tight. I'm not sure if it was the FIRM or not - it could be stress from taking care of my DD (my body holds a lot of tension - whenever i"m under stress my body just tightens up), or extra housecleaning that i have been doing this past week (partially stomach virus induced and partially due to just wanting to get some stuff done) or it could just be a coincidence.... I'm just never sure what triggers it. I will say on Sunday I worked really hard on my kitchen and dining room floors (they were a mess) and I have been "off" somehwat since then. Anyway, bottom line was I wanted something a little lighter and i knew this would fit the bill. I did two of the cardio workouts - Move It and Power Up. Both are similar to the original PowerFit cardio in that the combos are simple and easy to follow and you can either take it easy or modify it up. I modified up by using my weighted gloves and the 6 inch portion of my TransFIRMer (for the "mock" step work does - you know, where she places the band on the floor to sort of mark off a "step"). By using these modifications I got a low-to-solid intermediate level cardio workout. Another idea I had was to use the BOSU also for the step routines. And, I I cave on the Wave, I think that would work also. I followed it up with Pure Power which is one of the core workouts. I liked this one as well - there were some "yoga" moves and "core" moves (bird dog, planks) as well as traditional crunches (not too many - I Hate crunches!) She also interspersed some stretching throughout. Overall I liked all of the workouts I did and no regrets so far on the purchase. THe music is somewhat bland but very few exercise DVDs have good music. is warm and encouraging. It made me wish that these sets were available after my DD was born - the 20 minute length and ability to take it up or down in intensity would be absolutely perfect for new moms. If my back continues to gripe about the FIRM I may switch and do 's 30 day rotation that incorporates the oriringal Power Fit, Power Fit Plus and PowerFit Harmony. She designed a rotation that is based on doing 2 workouts a day - for a total of 40 minutes, I would probably add on an extra 20 minutes of either strength, stretch, cardio or Pilates - depending on what I felt like I needed for the day for a total of 60 minutes. Hopefully my back will just settle down - although i am thinking of substituting some of these strength workouts in on the sculpt days of the FIRM rotation - so I can try them out! Hope everyone is goind well!Donna
