Guest guest
Hello All, I seemed to spark a big debate about vaccines last time I posted! So, I will try something less controversial this time! :-)My 5 year old just got blookwork back and I won't be able to talk to the doc until Monday due to the T-day holiday. His CU Index (Chronic Urticaria) index was 40.9. The reference range is <10. The statement on the lab work next to this value says " The CU Index tst is the second generation Functional Anti-FcER test. Patients with a CU Index >or = 10 have basophil reactive factors in their serum which supports an autoimmune basis for disease. " Is this saying that he has an autoimmune disease? And if so, which one? Because his ANA screen was negative, his Adrenal, Thyroid and Rheumatoid factor came back all within normal limits. Does anyone have any experience with interpreting the CU Index? I seem to be getting more confused just by searching the internet. Other findings in his bloodwork are high IgE 529 in range of <60), High Eosinophils (700 in range of 0-400), Low IgG Subclass 4 (.6 in ref range of ..8-81.9) and low natural killer cells (74 in range of 130-720). Thanks Kim
