Guest guest
There is a new state wide service you can access by dialing 211 too. It should hook you up to a local Dallas agency that can refer you to local places. Cynthai Early Childhood Intervention Hi all, I have a friend with a 10 month old baby who is not reaching out, not responding, etc. She is very concerned. I would like to recommend that she call ECI in her county but I am not sure how to find it. I looked in my phone book to no avail. I don't know what county she lives in, but it is in South Dallas near Oakcliff. Can someone who has been through ECI please let me know how you found their number? I am currently NO MAIL, so if it is not too much trouble, please email me privately @whcmccain@.... Thanks so much,
Guest guest
I just want to say, that some people are going to try to discourage you from looking into whether or not the baby is developmentally delayed or not, because they usually wait so long, at least 18 months, to start looking at this stuff. I KNEW when my Caleb was born, he was different. Ya, I didn't know about autism until he was a year and a half, because the Dr's kept disregarding my concerns because he was still early in the developmental stage. My son acted opposite of my first child. The point of my blathering is, the best thing your friend could do for now, is tons of research on groups like these, because she is realizing it at such an early stage, she has a great advantage and can do a lot of things to help her baby, including GFCF since he/she is just starting foods. You can recommend ECI and see if they would be willing to help (I haven't had experience with them) but it sounds like your friend's baby is very lucky to have a mom who is catching this (if there is anything) so early. Hope this helps! Spainhower Independant Consultant for Big Yellow Box by Crayola R I LOVE being a work at home <http://www.bigyellowbox.net/creatingmemories> mom!!! _____ From: whcmccain@...
