Sounds good to me. When? Where? My life is usually crazy, but certain

nights, weekends and day time spots work for me. I teach on wed am's so that is

out. Just let me know your thoughts everyone?

Thanks for working on this Liz...

If it is possible, please don't choose a restaurant as

a meeting place.

Thanks for doing this.

We all have crazy schedules, so it may be hard to find a good time, but so

far 6:00pm, maybe at Coffee Dreams???? Lets keep throwing dates and places

out there. I thought our first meeting could be about the DAN! LA

conference. Share all of the knowledge from that conference and get to know

each other. Just thinking out loud. Liz

Can you give a little more info about the focus of this group -- ie: a

general informal gathering to share ideas or more formal grouping to lobby in

school issues? Is this just for those living in or would folks in

McKinney,

Plano and other nearby cities also be welcome?

I think whoever wants to come, COME - Frisco, Mckinney, Plano, Wylie whoever

wants to get out. We could change the name. It would be nice to share

information about Doctors in the area, supplements, ABA therapists, school

districts, and just a general get together for our fragile minds. We could

also use these meetings as a time to invite, pediatricians, the Mayor,

Legislators, Fire Chief, whoever, we think needs to be educated on the real

life facts of autism in their community. We could also invite people to

educate us, Dr. Rao, Kelle Wood BCBA (if in town or another BCBA in town),

Jeff Sell -Vaccines (if in town). Whatever the need may be. I am open to

all ideas. It is looking like evenings are the best for most folks. Liz

Hi Liz:

I would love to come up and give a talk on either the vaccine

stuff, or, I have been doing a revised " Advocacy " presentation that I really

enjoy doing as well, and the message is really important. We have got to

give folks within our community the tools to become effective advocates-the

presentation is up on my website if you want to take a look and see if that

would be a topic that y'all would want me to address--

http://www.jzslaw.com/pages/6/index.htm --go all the way to the bottom and

click on Effective Advocacy!!!

Just yell, and I'll be there!!!!!

Peacefully,

Archana-

I haven't been on line in weeks and am just now going through a multitude of

e-mails. I just came across this thread and wanted to let you guys know that we

have kind of started precisely this kind of meeting already. I have a ABA home

program going and my son also attends the preverbal program at Callier at UTD.

A small group of parents and I decided to start a resource group whose goals are

EXACTLY like you, Liz, describe below. In fact, we are having our first meeting

in our home this Friday night. We invited Lori Russo of Behavioral Innovations

to talk to us about ABA. If any of you would like to attend, just contact me at

this email: laviolacomcast (DOT) net. and I can give you some more details.

Take care-

ASCC parent support group meetings address many of these issues also.

We have 2 groups, one on the second Tuesday and one on the 3rd tuesday,

both are in the morning.

We discuss vitamin supplementation, chelation, doctors, therapists,

schools and ABA. Our parent support group meetings are limited to

parents only, this is a time for parents to network. I know that our

general meetings are varied but they are in the evenings and we have had

speakers like Jeff Sell, Barbie Blizzard etc....

As to inviting Fire, police chiefs etc... we have done training with

Plano and police departments in the past, but I must admit it's

been a couple of years since we've contacted them.
