Guest guest
Sometimes, three times is not the charm. Such is the case with this one. Allie leads it and does a great job (but she doesn't look or sound like she's having a lot of fun, or maybe that was just me) but I just do not click with it. It is a 52 minute "cardio" workout but the cardio is only about 35 minutes. The rest is a standing leg section that uses the sculpting stick and abs. I've reviewed it all before so I'll just summarize why I've decided not to keep this one. I had a very hard time mastering the cardio at first but I think I've got it down well now but... it is boring. There's a looong section of tap your right foot with left hand then behind you, switch feet, etc., for example, and it just goes on too long and I get tired of it. There are other sections that are better but they're also interspersed with slower-moving 4-limbed work with the sculpting stick and my heart rate dives during those so my heart rate doesn't stay up consistently enough. When it is up, it is up well and feels great but then you hit a 4-limbed part and it dives. And I must say, while I like the stick for some things, I hate it for 4-limbed. It feels very awkward and I don't feel like I'm doing the movements correctly though I very well might be (I concentrate hard on my form because it feels so awkward). The standing legs section, again, because of the stick, doesn't feel very comfortable or effective. It does require very good balance but even today, when my balance was pretty good, I just do not feel like the stick and the moves are very effective. I'd rather spend my time doing something I know is giving me results instead of fighting to keep my balance or, even when I'm doing well there, just not feeling the exercises much. And the abs... I thought at first they were just hard and my core wasn't strong enough. That still might be part of it but every time I've tried them, by lower back HURTS so much as I'm doing them. I use, what I think is, really good form but wow, I feel these so much more in my back than my abs. I tried doing the beginner modifier version and it still hurt. I have no idea what it is about these but between my back hurting and my abs not getting much and my stomach feeling really off this morning too AND running late, I quit about halfway through thinking, this is just not worth it. And, that about sums up how I feel about this workout. No worth it for me. Oh well.
Guest guest
You have given it a fair shot with three tries - I say substitute it for a FIRM cardio tape you *do* like next time it comes up in your rotation!Hugs!

Guest guest
just a note on my own post. I did the entire cardio & standing leg section and there's a semi-decent stretch between the leg and ab section that I did then I bailed halfway through the abs and didn't do the final stretch. And I really need to find a spell check program to work with this version of Outlook Express because re-reading my own postings is sometimes painful to see the mistypes! :-) Maximum Cardio Burn Plus Abs Sometimes, three times is not the charm.
