Guest guest
Hi I don't think I advocated using only distilled water for Kombucha-making. However if one uses ONLY distilled water for Kombucha, the amount of Kombucha consumed in a day should not present any problem IMO, compared to what Kombucha seems to bring, least of these the probiotics and the enzymes. Furthermore it is recommended to drink a lot more water than KT. Now if one Google distilled water the first page comes with a lot of warning against drinking ONLY distilled water but there other point of view like this one HERE SO there is a debate, if one want to play it safe drink good amount of spring water or Osmosis Water and add trace elements if possible. We must understand that in our modern world several essential nutrients ( trace metals ARE nutrients) are missing.. it is said for example that because of the USA type of farming (read heavily reliant on petro-chemicals), our soil is severely lacking in chromium, which the body needs to activate the production of insulin, thus it is good to add some chromium and other minerals to our water intake , when good, honest real spring water.. several so-called spring water are not really from real springs ( read this article HERE ), is not available .. SO distilled water plus trace metal is a safe way to get your minerals ... and you can control the amount ... It is of course laudable to go as pure and totally natural for many it is not possible. Even Kombucha does not seem to just occur in nature all by itself, it must be prodded by brewing some tea, sweetening it and leaving to ferment in some way .. I am wondering to this day how KT came to be .... A nurse, here at this site( not going to name her)said it is OK. I am a vegetarian an live on live foods, that is why i do not use so much additives. I have recently got Magnesium though, and take calcium and potassium.I know what i probably ment to say is that brewing with distilled water is doubleing the leaching effects of Kombucha. Still i said this is a personnal choice! i beleive we are both entitled to our opinions.I am grateful though because you are teaching me something new here....I would never do intentionally to anyone! Love as always..Jahjet > > additives are nice, but it is still best to get your vitamins and minerals from fresh green foods and fruits >
