My seat does lie back, but I can't get my legs up. Mama Jo, I do have one of those long handled thingies, but I am worried about the strain, still. Maybe another week. I actually feel energetic today and feel like I am fine on the inside while the skin still screeches when pulled! LOL Hugs and blessings, Ann

Here's the internet site for the western region site. They have an office in Sacramento. http://www.angelflight.org/ Jerry

AngelFlight has a number of chapters and regional offices. I know of at least one case where they set up a " relay " to get someone from the Salt Lake area to the San , CA area. In another case, they " relayed " someone from southern CA to southern WA. What they do is set up a multiple leg trip and ask for volunteer pilots for each leg. As each pilot reaches the end of his/her leg, she passes the patient off to the next pilot, just like a runner passing the baton in a relay race. The problem is the time involved, since most of these flights are by smaller private aircraft that fly about 120 MPH and at low altitudes. So, while it is faster than driving, it still doesn't match the speed of a commercial flight. As an example.. A friend of mine flew from Oshkosh, WI to the west coast in his small plane. It took him two days, about 18 hours of flying. We flew the same basic route last October when we visited family just north of Milwaukee. Our flight took 5 hours. So there are tradeoffs. However, there are some " Corporate Angels " that will transport a person with a medical need and financial problems in the company airplane, typically a small business jet. However, these are on a case by case basis, if there are seats available on the plane, and the flight happens to be going to the same area as the patient. A little harder to arrange, but nearly the speed of a commercial airliner. Jerry
