Easter Seals Southern Georgia Adult and Pediatric respite care services.

Easter Seals of Southern Georgia is presently working to start it's

newest service line, Senior Solutions, a center-based respite program

for disabled adults who are 65 years and older. We are planning to

begin providing services in April 2007. The program will be center

based at our Albany Office on 1906 Palmyra Road. The program will be

supervised by an RN. Initially the RN will oversee two C.N.A. staff.

The proposed number of consumers served per day is 8 (dependent on

acuity level of each consumer). We are hoping to operate Mon-Fri,

9am - 3p, and possible one Sat. per month. While in our care, we will

not only attend to personal and medical needs, we will also address

the social and recreational areas as well. We plan to provide meals

and meaningful activities to promote wellness, mental acuity, and

emotional support. Proposed activities include excercise classes,

arts'n'crafts, visits from Paws Patrol, theme days and other various

recereational activities. We will be accepting referrals from the

Alzheimer's Association, the Council on Aging, doctors and family

members. The cost will be $72 per day and may be adjusted using a

sliding fee scale.

We also have an exsisting pediatric respite care program called

's House. It can provide a time stay of a the day to up to 2

weeks if needed. All staff are certified and have extensive

experience working with children who happen to have a disability.

Every child that stays at 's House will be on a one on one care

giver ratio.
