Guest guest
hi, i use a baster, for drawing the KT, gently inserted as a straw would, also use it to baste top of scoby with acidic KT..wash in very hot water, and only use for Kombucha. It is re-usable, hard plastic, tte > > > Hi lois welcome to our group > > It is better to wash the straws first in very hot water then let them dry. You are doing very well with your fermenting by the sound of it,well done! > As for getting a thick scoby you don't really need it to be thick to do it magical work, any thickness will result in good kt. If you do want it thick then set up a hotel for your scoby by putting them in a glass jar covered in tart kt and a muslin to cover the opening and just set it aside and leave well alone, just making sure from time to time that its still got kt covering it. To tast your kt with a straw just slip the straw gently down the side of the scoby and draw kt up it by covering the top of the straw with your finger when its in the kt and bring it out putting it into a cup. Your scoby won't be disturbed too much. > Hope this helps and I'm sure others on this group will join in and advise you too. > > (UK) > Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device >
