Hi

Thanks for the notes.

Could you tell me which uva ursi drops you prefer...I think they'd be easier to

get down than caps.

We've had interesting few days since our consult.

I had some concerns as I saw a little blood in his stool last Thursday. I think

he pushed and strained himself in the toilet. His poo was soft but a bit thick.

I started to give him movicol (1 sach 2x/day). Seemed to do the trick and I

didn't see any more blood.

Then on Wednesday he tried going 3 times and virtually nothing came out.

Strained again and I saw a little blood. Called Dr Kogglemeir Fri a.m and told

her what was happening. She said we should stop the Creon. And give him Movicol

til he's back to normal. I gave him 3 Thursday and yesterday. Now he's anxious

about going because he's associating pain with it. He's only going once a day

since Thursday (explosion and quite a bit coming out) Probably pretty painful

as he is holding out til last possible second.

I stupidly tried to give him a suppository (when he wasn't suitably occupied

with my ipod!) and he noticed what I was doing and wasn't gong to have ANY of

it! I think he desperately needs a suppository. From what I could see last night

it's like the poo is being squeezed out around something that needs clearing (!)

Should I try popping one in when he's asleep?? I know I might have a mess on my

hands but I just don't know what else to do to help soften what's there.?!?

Should I stick with 3 Movis a day or go up to 4?? (Kogg's suggestion was 1 sach

2x day, but it didn't seem like enough to me, that's a maintenance dose for most

kids)

Needless to say, appetite virtually gone...and yes, now burping all the time.

I think the Creon is a factor. Remember I mentioned he became constipated when

we went up to the full scoop dose last time? Though this time we were only at

half a scoop.

Sod's law this stuff happens right AFTER a consult!!!!

Many thanks

Helene x
