Guest guest
First of all, let me start off by saying I have major DOMS in my abs from Crunch Time last night. Holy Cow! It didn't seem too too hard while we were doing them at the time, but wowzers, am I hurtin' today! Aunt Flo came early so I just walked the bridges at lunch this afternoon instead of running them. It was a beautiful day for a walk, for once the sun was out! I was a tad early to Fitness so I started off by running on the treadmill. After about 5 minutes I sensed a presence and when I turned my head Noel was standing right next to me - I had my tunes cranked up and hadn't noticed him. We did 4 chest machines and I don't know if put extra weight on them this time or what but it seemed harder than usual. Thinking about Turbo Fire and such, I asked Noel what he thought of HIIT and tabata drills. As you might imagine, his reply was, " What the fuck is that? " Me: " You know, high intensity interval training? Tabata, where you do intense drills like jumping jacks for 40 minutes then go at a lower intensity for 20 seconds, repeat for 4 minutes " " Cardio is so gay, and I don't mean this in the good sense of the word " , he replied, 'What's cardio good for? " I laughed and said, um, to get your heart rate up and burn a lot of calories. " Well why not just not eat instead, that way you don't have to do cardio at all?! " We did three tricep machines and I told him Tuesday would have to be my last day because I'm broke and will be for about a month. I told him in the interim I'd do kettlebells which got an eye roll. I cited the ACE study where you can burn 400 calories in 20 minutes doing kettlebells and that I had a 45 pound kettlebell at Studio LouLou with his name on it if he ever wanted me to prove that to him. His response was, " I can hold that on my dick " . I was laughing so hard! I told him I'd see him Thursday for legs and he said " I'm going to work your smart ass til you can't walk " . Yikes! I can never walk after regular leg days, I can't imagine what this will be. Better enjoy walking over the next two days while I can! As I made my way to the locker room he said, " Hey, good job today " . That made me feel good
