BA Removal

I had Bio Alcamid removed by Dr in Los Angeles. I put off doing it for over a year because I was afraid that it would be problematic, but it actually was very easy and problem free. He's removes it from the outside simply by making a puncture mark with a needle and then squeezing. He's done many of these removals and really knows what he is doing.

Like you, I was very afraid that I would go back to my baseline lipoatrophy, but thankfully I didn't. There is a small deficit, but nothing at all like it was before the filler was put in. It looks now like what might be considered age appropriate aging as opposed to the obvious HIV facial wasting.

I am not certain, but I suspect that the reason it didn't go back to the original condition is a combination of a) it's impossible to remove all the BA, so there is probably still small amounts of it in there and B) perhaps some scarring and/or collagen buildup under the skin.

If you would like to know more about my experience with this, email me privately.

Good Luck,

Sid

I am in the process of deciding who to go to for BA removal. Logistically DR.

in LA would be the easiest for me. I called his office last week

and spoke with Jan. She said that Dr. does not remove BA which surprised

me because I have heard that he has done quite a bit of it. It sounded like he

has turned it over to someone else in the office. Jan repeatedly recommended Dr

Naissan Wesley, a surgeon. She removes BA surgically and if I understood

correctly it required anesthesia (I could be wrong about that). Of course they

do not accept any type of insurance, so it sounds expensive to me. If anyone

has info related to this I would love to hear from you.

I am aware of Dr. in Houston and Dr. C in Tijuana.

Thanks
