Guest guest
Laughing Stock is a community service program from Bay Area Theatresports School of Improvisation (based at Fort Mason Center) for those living with life-threatening, chronic illness (such as HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Hep C, etc.) and their intimates/caregivers/partners, now in it's twelfth year. July 16 Specialty Improv with WIlliam Hall 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. July 30 Specialty Improv with Ann Swanberg 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Aug 6 Specialty Improv with 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Improv is not drama therapy nor stand-up comedy; it's an opportunity to engage your inner creativity. Success is measured in the attempt, not the final product. You are not responsible for your imaginations. Learn the circus bow! Go into the Cave....Find out what happens when you just say YES. These coaches (also performers) have conducted improv workshops since last century and have worked with L S participants previously. All level of students are welcomed. Wear loose comfortable clothes for movement and sensible shoes or heavy socks. Light refreshments provided. Classes are at CPMC Davies campus in the Gazebo Room, the glass-enclosed, living-room style space on the plaza between the hospital's north and south towers. It's reachable from the south tower elevators to level one, or a stroll past the construction across the plaza into the adjacent hallway. For more information about these or future classes and the program, contact the L S Volunteer Coordinator, Ann Feehan at mydoscents@... or check out the BATS website at www.improv.org. Ann can put you on an email distribution list for Advanced student free performance showcases and future beginning class series and specialty workshops. There is free garage parking on Saturdays or take MUNI buses 24 or 37 to Castro & 14th Streets; or N-Judah to Noe St. and walk up one block. Wheelchair accessible. So what good is sitting alone in your room, come join the laughter and fun. Make endorphins to help boost your immune system. -- Healthfully & Electronically, GoldmanSan Francisco, CAHome of the 2010 World Champion Giants!
