Guest guest
Hi EveryOne, Not sure of the validity of the iodine skin test although it is interesting. There is an actual iodine loading test that measures the amount of iodine in your urine over 24 hours that is probably more accurate. More information on the Iodoral website. Iodoral is a small tablet that includes both iodine and iodide. optimox.com/pics/Iodine/opt_Iodoral.htm However, iodine while very important is not the only factor involved in making enough thyroid hormone. The best way to find out if you need thyroid hormone is to test your blood for not only TSH which most doctors do, but also Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. Many people have normal TSH and still aren't producing enough thyroid hormone. If you wish to discuss the thyroid further, and it is an important discussion, please take the discussion to the To Your Health list also on since thyroid is off topic for the Kombucha list. To-Your-Health/ There is also a lot more information on my Thyroid-Adrenal Connection website including mailing lists specifically for thyroid issues.
