Guest guest Posted April 19, 2012 Report Share Posted April 19, 2012 Yes, an investigator at the CTN was thinking of doing a clinical trial it on participants who previously had IL-7 treatment. IL-7 is supposedly going to restore or at least increase CD4's in the gut and the idea was to use berberine to decrease inflammation after the IL-7 is used. It was just a short point he was making because he decided not to pursue it because the company wouldn't even supply the drug. He will re-think the situation once it is approved in Canada. Although it is approved in other countries, he found it would be too costly to buy it and then have to get approval from Health Canada.
