Aside from finding a new Dr., which I too agree is not an easy process, the whole meds thing

takes due diligence. Especially for all the non-HIV meds. I go through this with my elderly

Mom and always have to be on the ball to get the best prices because she doesn't take

enough meds to get a Medicare Part D. When one of her Dr's prescribes any type of

medication I tell them to prescribe the best generic that won't break the bank and then I

shop pharmacies. She is currently on two high blood pressure medications that I get at a

Rite-Aid pharmacy for $8.99 each for 30 day supply, and the pharmacy suggested we do the 90 day script

to save $$ which is $15.99.

Good luck on your quest for finding a new Dr. and look up ASO's (which helped me greatly when I moved

to Phoenix) and get a case manager to help you! My case manager in Phoenix was paramount in helping

me with ADAP and Dr recommendations, housing (though I didn't need it) and many other things. She

was a great help and there should be some in Syracuse!

Keep us posted on the move and new Dr.

Best of luck to you,

Nena

Thank you , I will definitely check that out!

Fortunately for me and my meds I use a mail order pharmacy in California that specializes

in HIV meds but also other maintenence drugs like Pravastatin and those get delivered

right to my door! Awesome company, I will post their info but they can only deal with

people living in California, they cannot mail outside of the state but they are PRO's

at dealing with Medi-Cal, Medicare, ADAP and all insurance companies.....and they

can handle almost any kind of packaging needs to help people adhere to taking their

meds. All packages come generically, no one would have any idea what is being

delivered.

Here is the info for people in California only, you can even refer to my name as I am on

really good terms with the pharmacy mananger Roy, they also have Spanish speaking

technicians. The great thing about them is they really understand HIV meds and other

meds that you may need to take so they are really careful about certain meds that cannot

be taken with each other! They will call me the day they are sending out my package,

it's at my door by 830a next day....the delivery service does not ring my doorbell, knock

on my door or get a signature.....then the pharmacy will call me by Noon to see if I have

received my package. Now if only I could get it 90days at a time I would be the happiest

ever, but you can't beat your meds dropped off at your doorstep. They are a awesome

company and will WORK with you, you don't get that very often...... If you live in California

I highly recommend this company, so far I have not had to pay a penny out of pocket

and I am on Medicare Part D program. I have used them for over a year.

CPSI/ California Pharmacy Services Inc. 1-800-970-3887

I know some people have started running into problems with existing drugstores, insurances

etc so just wanted to let everyone know about this alternative.

Thanks,

Nena

P.S. NO, I do not get a kickback or referral, I just like to tell people about a great service if I

come across one :-) Cheers and Happy New Year, may it be happy, healthy and prosperous!

Thank you so much for posting this!!! We will be leaving to go to Eastern Europe at the end of January and will finally be bringing our twins home! Oh, for those who may not remember….we are adopting four year old boy/girl twins and the little girl has HIV. I have begun to realize that while we are all *very* excited, that there are some practical matters that we need to start planning for and the meds is a huge part of this. I am thrilled to have this resource!
