Guest guest
Hi a! re: Trainer's Edge - I did like the lower body routine led by Delores Munoz (sp?) - it is very basic and repetitive but I definately felt it. I also like the abs & back routine lead by O.... And, I did like Petra's even though it wasn't very challenging - more of a light day workout. In fact, I may do Petra's tomorrow. Good luck w/ the surgery and all - I hope you get good results from it. AND, thank you for the prayers for my dog - her name is Shenan (short of Shenandoah - she is from Virginia!) Take care, Donna From: a <paulajfrey@...>Subject: Re: a lot to recap Date: Sunday, April 11, 2010, 10:39 PM So my question would be: are there any good Trainers Edge videos? ;-)PJ>> Sunday, April 11, 2010> > > > > > > > oh a> lot to cover> > > > > > let's see thursday evening did> dynamic stretch with janis saffell. some flowing stretches nothing > fancy or different just a nice 27 min workout. some standing stretches > but mostly on the mat. > > friday morning was jillian> maximize back in action workout. again nothing out of the ordinary > for jillian, its just a tough aerobic weight program. of course it being> lighter on the weights i subbed some more upper body work with two > segments from exercise> tv's total body toning dvd. i first did the firm up fast arms with > cindy witmarsh. this is a circuit style workout with some ab work. i > used 8s and that was tough. she gives no breaks in this workout so > heavy isn't a big option but its still an effective workout. i then did > marco reed's cardio upper body. this mixes up a lot of exercises for > lower and upper and some combinations of upper/lower along with some > roping for heart rate. he did the pylo traveling push ups. super hard! > this is almost bootcamped style/athletic conditioning. > > i > unfortunately skipped any stretch or yoga for friday evening. so that > left me sore on saturday morning. i also didn't sleep to well so i was > mega tired! i tried my best to do all the cardio from 10> minute solution knockout body. actually i believe its 2 cardio and > one cardio/tone interval. i did do the upper body or abs on this dvd. i > started with the gloves but took them off(i used my own gold's gym 3lb > gloves). i pushed through modified where needed. i think if i was 100% > this would have been an easier workout for me but its still a great > useful workout. its basic but some segments are a bit of a space hog. > its also challenging for the balance on some moves but that really works> the core for me. great add on or light day workout.i added on cathe's > MMA kickboxing stretch afterwards because i didn't know what else i was > in the mood for LOL. > > this morning i went with a workout sent to> me from another vidiot buddy. a trainer's> edge video from liz gilless called total body lift.this would have > had more potential but it seems little to rushed thought was put into > it. i was like trying to mix kari anderson with jane fonda. not bad > exercises but her tempos and cues were way off. the warm up was not > overly off but there were some arm movements that made me go HUH? what > are you doing? some of the exercises were really good and familiar aside> from the tempo. but parts of the workout seemed very rushed and almost > made up as you went along. i have to say based on doing this my buddy is> lucky she didn't pull her back out of whack. some of these exercises > require lots of concentration and moving at that pace would cause one to> lose form.i have done other workout from liz gillies before so i was > expecting a lot better. i might try some of the chapters for warm ups on> my other workouts though. some of the sections were good mobility and > dynamic stretching but i am not recommending this one especially those > with bad backs!> > LDY_SOLANA'S fITNESS BLOG> > LDY_SOLANA'S WEBPAGE> > last purchase 3-12-10> 53 virgin workouts left> owner of 326 workout dvds & 50 fitness related books>
Guest guest
Thanks Donna! Thats helpful. I've steered clear of them on Netflix due to really loathing the one with Violet Zaki (sp?). I will pray for Shenan!! a > > > > Sunday, April 11, 2010 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > oh a > > lot to cover > > > > > > > > > > > > let's see thursday evening did > > dynamic stretch with janis saffell. some flowing stretches nothing > > fancy or different just a nice 27 min workout. some standing stretches > > but mostly on the mat. > > > > friday morning was jillian > > maximize back in action workout. again nothing out of the ordinary > > for jillian, its just a tough aerobic weight program. of course it being > > lighter on the weights i subbed some more upper body work with two > > segments from exercise > > tv's total body toning dvd. i first did the firm up fast arms with > > cindy witmarsh. this is a circuit style workout with some ab work. i > > used 8s and that was tough. she gives no breaks in this workout so > > heavy isn't a big option but its still an effective workout. i then did > > marco reed's cardio upper body. this mixes up a lot of exercises for > > lower and upper and some combinations of upper/lower along with some > > roping for heart rate. he did the pylo traveling push ups. super hard! > > this is almost bootcamped style/athletic conditioning. > > > > i > > unfortunately skipped any stretch or yoga for friday evening. so that > > left me sore on saturday morning. i also didn't sleep to well so i was > > mega tired! i tried my best to do all the cardio from 10 > > minute solution knockout body. actually i believe its 2 cardio and > > one cardio/tone interval. i did do the upper body or abs on this dvd. i > > started with the gloves but took them off(i used my own gold's gym 3lb > > gloves). i pushed through modified where needed. i think if i was 100% > > this would have been an easier workout for me but its still a great > > useful workout. its basic but some segments are a bit of a space hog. > > its also challenging for the balance on some moves but that really works > > the core for me. great add on or light day workout.i added on cathe's > > MMA kickboxing stretch afterwards because i didn't know what else i was > > in the mood for LOL. > > > > this morning i went with a workout sent to > > me from another vidiot buddy. a trainer's > > edge video from liz gilless called total body lift.this would have > > had more potential but it seems little to rushed thought was put into > > it. i was like trying to mix kari anderson with jane fonda. not bad > > exercises but her tempos and cues were way off. the warm up was not > > overly off but there were some arm movements that made me go HUH? what > > are you doing? some of the exercises were really good and familiar aside > > from the tempo. but parts of the workout seemed very rushed and almost > > made up as you went along. i have to say based on doing this my buddy is > > lucky she didn't pull her back out of whack. some of these exercises > > require lots of concentration and moving at that pace would cause one to > > lose form.i have done other workout from liz gillies before so i was > > expecting a lot better. i might try some of the chapters for warm ups on > > my other workouts though. some of the sections were good mobility and > > dynamic stretching but i am not recommending this one especially those > > with bad backs! > > > > LDY_SOLANA'S fITNESS BLOG > > > > LDY_SOLANA'S WEBPAGE > > > > last purchase 3-12-10 > > 53 virgin workouts left > > owner of 326 workout dvds & 50 fitness related books > > >
Guest guest
The Violet Zaki one isn't my favorite, but you can make it harder by doing the workout on the bag. I do like her standing leg work at the end!
