Guest guest
Hey , I had a massive infection in my right cheek back in 2007 from BA done years before. After repeated attempts to get the infection under control, I had Dr. in Houston remove it. I decided two days before the surgery to get both sides done. Initially I some scar tissue that kept the areas from dipping like before. However, after about a year they both began to recede like before and I now am back to where I started. I have thought seriously about getting PMMA to fill the dips. My partner and family have begged me not to. There is a possibility that a small amount of BA remains even though it was removed from inside the mouth. I would hate the thought of starting another infection because of my vanity. I certainly wouldn't put any more of that BA crap in my face. I have learned to live with it and I hope that I can continue in the future. --JJ > > Hi all, > > I was one of the first to get BioAlcamid put into my cheeks up here in > Toronto. > Because the plastic surgeon was new at it, he overfilled. Guest guest
My story: I may have been the first one to have an infection after BA removal, because since then Dr C has been giving antibiotics as prophylaxis. In all, I have probably had 3 to 4 removals. I can tell there still some there because I'm getting "jowly" again, but no where like in the past. In the past 2 years I have gotten sculptra through Kaiser with no problems. I've had 4 injections of Sculptra. This is just to let you know that one infection doesn't doom you to subsequent infections and you can always take antibiotics as prophylaxis.
