Guest guest
I splurged and bought Synergy Gingerberry KT last night. Only got to sip a few times before I fell asleep (had a long day yesterday) I woke up to find my Gingerberry KT at room temperature. That's ok it is still wonderful and I am sipping it at the moment. Then I got to thinking. I ve read and research far and wide but did not see any mention of heating KT. I wonder has anyone tried that? Would it take the fizziness away? Would it kill all the good stuff? The thought of sipping warm KT on a cold night (its gonna be 61 tomorrow here in Arizona brrrrrrr) gives me warm fuzziness.. Tomorrow I get to add new batch, maybe one will be ready to start brewing and then work on my KT journal. I can hardly wait! Especially on the tasting part! Thank you so much nn p.s. has anyone heard of Vagina Monologue Broadway Show? Well tonight I will be interpreting for a low vision Deaf consumer. Should be interesting because the play is all Deaf cast!!! I am really excited. If you have never heard of it. Google or wiki it .
Guest guest
hi, nn !Good thinking! It is a live food, and that is why one has to be so careful, adding only properly cooled sweet tea to scoby.. and as for fizz it goes when the bottle is not filled to very top, and covered tight. You will remember this when start bottling. Jahjet > > I splurged and bought Synergy Gingerberry KT last night. Guest guest
Hi nn From my experience, WARM KOmbucha is a very pleasurable thing. As long as you don't boil it, the microflora can stand up to warm temperatures without losing any of its benefits. I usually warm my mug first, make half a cup of ordinary tea/tisane and top up with Kombucha Tea, the tarter the better. A dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, or the mixture used in chai tea, bring extra warmth and activiate the feel good factor for me. I hope it will for you, nn, very warm kombuchaly, Margret:-) -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk/family/scobygrow/home.html http://bavarianminstrel.wordpress.com creation.com Four things come not back: The spoken word; the speeding arrow; time past; the neglected opportunity. Guest guest
Oooooo today while I was making starter #5 with tisane this time. I was sipping KT (store bought because I didn't have any ready to drink) in a wine glass I thought I d add a spoonful of strong sweetened tisane in my wineglass just to see what it would taste like. Wow the sweetened tisane went to bottom and KT was on top.. very clear " layered " look and oh so purty! This reminded me of years ago when I was living in IL I used to frequent this Chinese Restaurant because I loved their " layered " drink. Was of some kind of rum, grenadine, pineapple juice and something green. The drink was pretty good but I especially loved the look. (No wonder Culinary Art or Pastry Art is my specialty as a Chef) My question now here is . anyone know anything about fancy Kombucha drinks, layered, or such? So true about killing all the good stuff if I boil KT. good tip about warm mug. I have a candle warmer (that I made do to warm my starters) I am sure I can use it to warm my KT and mug. What an idea. As always I learn something new here. Thank you so much. nn From: kombucha tea [mailto:kombucha tea ] On Behalf Of Margret Pegg Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2010 11:49 AM kombucha tea Subject: Re: warm?
