You need vitamin K for blood to clot.

Jo I don't remember seeing my Vit K levels with my labs, we were so freaked

by the others that I don't even remember seeing half of them. I wonder if the

bruising I have is possibly that or might be related to the anemia. I might

need a copy of the labs from the last to make sure all is well. Don't want to

bleed to death from a routine hyst...LOL. I'm sure they'll do a Pt and Ptt

though...that's kind of routine.

Also back to this subject...She asked me if my bleeding had worsened since my

WLS. I told her no, but thinking back it started about the time I had my

RNY.... Coincidence or hormonal? Or yet another malabsorption problem? I'm full

of questions tonight.

ROTFLMAO...how did I know you would ask this?

I was bleeding like a stuck pig...It would take me 10-20 mins to

stop bleeding from a simple little scratch.

I was brusing (don't panic with this one it is common to bruise

easily the first year or so...has alot to do with less fat

cushioning the vessels)

I was bleeding under the skin between the knees and ankles, with no

trauma to the area other than being on my feet alot.

You need vitamin K for blood to clot.
