Guest guest
Hello. The Mind Body Institute is delighed to offer a yoga program for children with special needs. We are proud of the therapeutic work we do, and welcome this opportunity to expand our services. Below is an article from our newsletter about the program and it's instructor, Greb. Please feel free to call if you have questions, and to distribute information about the class, if that is allowed in your setting. Yoga for Children with Special Needs! Yoga helps children develop physical strength & flexibility; improve concentration; reduce hyperactivity; cultivate confidence & self-esteem; enhance self-control & relaxation; and increase cognitive & motor skills. In this class, we use fun, playful yoga poses, yoga games, and breathing exercises that give children a feeling of well-being. The healing and learning powers of yoga can have wonderful effects on children with special needs. Our current offering is for children from ages 4 through 6. Greb, the instructor, completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane University and was awarded a Master of Arts from Piedmont College specializing in educating children with Emotional/Behavior Disorders and Autism. During her studies, she came upon the excellent therapeutic benefits of yoga. She is a certified children's yoga instructor and has been teaching children's yoga for the past 2 years. The mission of this class is to help children achieve their highest potential and experience enduring health and happiness. The course will meet weekly January 11 - February 15 from 9:30 - 11:30 am. It costs $75.00 for the 6 classes. Please call 706-475-7329 for more information or to register. We would love to hear from you, or to receive feedback. Sincerely, rb Robin M.
