Guest guest
My father is retired military, my brother is PDD and my first son is autistic. Yes, I agree. We were in and out of county every 4 years.... Lots of shots. Lorie -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Vessell Family" <cmrrvess@...> I have been watching and looking at post from Military families on this list and there seems to be a high number in realation to those who are average citizens, I was in service in Germany in 1998 and thats where we had Robby, he is autistic, I have come to the conclusion that I believe it was due to the vaccines he was given. Guest guest
I would like to add something to this wonderful post. We recently retired from the Army. My hubby was a great hubby and father before he went on his first tour to Korea. When he came back he was a totally different person. The shots he received before going was the first time he had ever had them. He had a reaction to the yellow fever shot and after getting it twice they finally said he can never have it again (duh!). Just about the time he started becoming more like a human he had orders to go to Kuwait for 6mths--had all the shots from 18mths prior repeted!! When he came back this time we started from scratch again. My 7yr son has Asperger's and Landau-Kleffner Syndrome. My 5yr old daughter was born 9mths after my husband's second trip to Korea (yes, same shots given again) and she also has Asperger's and even came out mildly autistic. There may not be any hard core evidence that the shots my husband was given caused this, but look at all the kids who were born to parents after Desert Storm? All the kids with mild to major health problems. Missy- SAHM & Angel to Warrior !! I am who I am because that's who I am, --, 7 Aspergers, LKS All Kids are gifted, some just open their packages earlier than others-- Carr http://www.iditarace4autism.com/index.html Race for Autismhttp://www.caringbridge.org/cb/inputSiteName.do?method=search & siteName=michaelfrench Stop by and say hi to my Warrior!! Guest guest
I am just gonna add my two cents here. My husband has been in the military for 10 years this past summer. My youngest daughter was born in 2001, before he had had an overseas tour or deployed. My daughter was born with Autism. So I don't think we can look at the shots that are given just to military when they head overseas. I do believe that there is a connection, or should I say a trigger, in the childhood vaccines that are given to our children from the first weeks they are born. Again, just my two cents. Guest guest
Since my first son was born before my hubby's first deployment, vaccines can't be the blame for his autism. I don't think the vaccines are the blame for my kid's issues but they seem to be linked to my husband's issues. Missy- SAHM & Angel to Warrior !! Guest guest
Oh, I am sorry. I must have misread the posts. Since my husband has been deployed in Iraq (2003) and Korea (right now) and all those shots, I have been fortunate to not notice any changes in him. However, we were at Ft with the 101st when OIF started and I saw what happened to lots of soldiers when they came back. Yes, many of them were changed. I think some of it is the shots and then some of it has to do with what they saw, did and just the stress of a deployment. Haven't really known many people returning from Korea, but I will keep my fingers crossed that all is still well with my hubby when he gets home. I know he just got some shots recently. Everytime I hear him say that he has to get some, I cringe.
