Kathy,

That's great to hear! My 8YO DS went on Risperdol and the positive

effect was almost immediate.

As for the weight gain, he went up a clothes size in a month but

stayed there. So about 10 pounds in 30 days, and it was noticeable

within a week (his face filled out). But he was pretty small to begin

with. He's always been a vegetarian and mostly ate carbs and tofu. I

did change his diet after a month to a lot more veggies (thank god he

loves cucumbers) and peanut butter/apple snacks and cut out the entire

loaf of French bread he'd scarf down.

Also, his new favorite and I swear it really keeps him going is

vanilla nonfat yogurt packed with kiwis, blueberries, strawberries and

nectarines. He makes it for breakfast and takes it also to camp

every day! He calls it his power lunch.

Sometimes they're so darn cute.

I am pretty sure my 5 yr old nephew is on risperdol and they were very worried

about the weight gain. He gained about 4 lbs or so to begin with, but then I

think he may have even lost that or else that was it and he gained no more. I

saw him recently and he was a completely normal size!

I am so glad your daughters are doing better! What great news.
