Hi I saw this post on the Autism Mercury post, since a lot of us are in the GA area maybe someone knows of a service that can help him. I don't know a lot about day or after school services for autistic children (since I home school) or other programs that might help. So any help I am sure this parent would appreciate. Surely social services can provide some type of help for this family! kay edge <jaelen_n_faithsmom@...> wrote: Hi I saw this post on the Autism Mercury post, since a lot of us are in the GA area maybe someone knows of a service that can help him. This post makes me think about the necessity to have EVERYTHING written out for my husband or even a possible guardian. Developing a will was so stressful - I hated thinking about the possibility of something happening to my husband or I or both of us that would leave my children in need of care by someone other than ME. Yet realistically I knew I needed to have a plan in place in case that happened. That plan mainly takes care of the who and the financial matters.

Reading this post, I started to consider my lack of a clear plan for someone else to step in for me in managing my kids doctors appointments, medications, therapies, school related services etc. It is all in my office and I can find it and access it quickly but could someone else keep up with my children's needs if I was in a serious accident and unable to communicate ... or worse. Just as I prepare a budget each year and update our financial info for attachments to our will, I need to prepare "snapshots" on each of my children and update them each year.

Have any of you done this? Any suggestions?
