I had split three out of four of my size 30's and finally broke down and bought the proper size. I hate them, but they are roomy. Man, I hope the insurance company says yes. If not, I'm probably heading to Brazil. I just can't go on like this and I think the DS is really the best long term solution for me. Is there a post-op out there who has PHCS and would like to tell me how long it took them to do a thumbs up? Thanks! I know I'm being impatient. <Sigh> It's sometimes tough to hear of everyone's successes on the list when you are in a big state of wait-and-see. " I wanna be a loser, too! I wore a very tight pair of size 32 jeans into the hospital when I had surgery. (does that tell you where I carry most of my weight?..lol) I also wore a 3xl shirt. Now 2 years out I wear size 14 pants and med/lrg shirts (sometimes smalls) I am not telling you this to upset you...but to give you hope for your future. The brass ring is out there, you just have to wait for your turn at it...then grab it and hang on! It will happen for you. Go ahead and whine...soon you will be whining that it isnt coming off fast enough....thats when we will smile, knowingly. We too were impatient. you will be a loser too! I'm not sure exactly when PHCS received the last piece of paperwork (cardiac clearance) but I believe it was approximately 2 weeks for the approval to come through. Hope this helps.
