Hi:  I do not have my paperwork near my computer, but I will look it up.  I

will send a message with my latest numbers.  That is a low GFR, but mine

fluctuates all the time.  I have other issues which cause some of my

problems.  I think my last GFR was around 50.  I will post more accurate

numbers as soon as I get a chance.  I know my other kidney functions were

within normal range.

I cannot say Gleevec has done this to me, as I have had my numbers

jumping around like this for over 20 years.  Mine could be related to my

Parathyroid problem.  Maybe somebody else could share a similar experience.

Hi all.

In error I wrote that the numbers of Robyn's Creatin and agfer were not good.

Her creatin went from 1.25 to 1.5. Her egfer went from 47 to 40. Even the first

numbers are out of range. Has anyone experience this? Has anyone had to go off

of Gleevec for a while until the kidney levels improve?

I meant are you on any additional meds that can increase your creatnine like

diuretics.  Lasix, demadex, or hydrochlorthiazide?

Hi.

Robyn is not on any diuretics. She takes Gleevec and Synthroid.

Do you have any suggestions on what could have caused her kidneys to continue to

go out of range?

Hi all.

This is just to let you know that Gleevec can effect the kidneys. I spoke to a

pharmacist who said that the medication is affecting her kidneys. We went over

all of Robyn's health records for the past ten years and found the kidney

numbers, as well as red cells were good. Kidney numbers were in range , but

white cells high when she was diagnosed. The kidney levels kept going down with

each year that she has been on Gleevec. Now the egfr is so low that it looks

like stage 3 of kidney problem. I am extremely surprised that the oncologist did

not pick up on this when he did her blood work. Everyone who is on Gleevec

needs to watch the levels of the Egfr and Creatin.
