Thanks Judy! I know I saw your posting something about this, I'll have to find it. So, I won't worry about the max thing and being too high but will trust the calorie burn. Thanks!

(super busy and no time for posting mostly, no time for working out lately either... next week, I swear, I'll be getting my life back... I swear I will...)

Heart Rate Monitor Questions

I noticed today, and other days, that sometimes when I am working REALLY hard, my monitor display does not seem to keep up with me. Like today, it said something like 137 or 140 and I knew I was WAY above that (doing the plyo workout on 10 Minute Solution Carb Burner). As I entered a 5 second or so rest before the next round of plyo movements I'd check the monitor and it would take a second or three to catch up and then it would say 167 or whatever it was and then it would also start falling from there because I was also slowing down for a bit. So... here's the silly question... is it not counting my calories when it seems "stuck"? I know the HRM isn't going to be perfect for calorie count but I have certain marks l like to get to with various workouts so it matters to me even if it is not 100% accurate. I want to know if it is safe to assume I may have burned more. In a 10 minute workout, like I did today, it doesn't matter but it long workouts, it might! I have a Polar F6 if that matters.

An interesting twist though is that while I never saw my heart rate over 167, when I checked the daily file it shows my max heart rate as 201!!! (according to the settings I have in it, just basic ones that I'm a female, age 43 and weight 109 lbs., that was 114% of max)! My average was 137. I've never seen my heart rate that high! Should I trust that? If I ever do see it should I back way off? And, since the F6 did seem to record it, even though the display wasn't showing it, should I also assume the calorie count is good?

Other related questions: Has anyone else had this issue with their F6? Is there something wrong with my monitor (because it seems to freeze like that, but only during VERY high intensity intervals)
