Guest guest
Cola Pop, this was my downfall too! Having been vegetarian for 12 years then vegan after that, carbs were always a big part of my diet and switching over to more protein initially was a change. However, now that I'm more or less weaned off of them, I don't miss them that much! Really! What's nice about limiting (but not eliminating) carbs is that 1) the protein fills you up. I'm never hungry eating this way. 2) I felt that I would binge eat with the carbs. Eat a ton of rice, a ton of chips, several slices of bread, etc. I'm not as compelled to do this with the protein foods 3) the protein shakes, at least with Optimum Nutrition brand, taste like a desert! Easier said than done, I know. I spend a few hours preparing my weeks' meals on Sunday, but then it's all there, ready to grab-n-go. I wish I could say that I was perfect. I have succumbed to wine and to office yum yum's but luckily not every day, and I try and make my workout extra hard that night or the next day to help a little with it.
