Hi ,

Sounds like you found a good plan! I agree it is so much easier to have everything prepped and ready to go - I frequently do that so in the morning I'm not scrambling to figure out what to bring for lunch/snack at work.

And, as for the treats - as long as they are the exception and not the rule, I think that is fine and a very balanced way of living. Life would be boring w/ out the occasional wine, bagel or blueberry muffin! :)

Donna (that said, i do eat a lot of carbs and do agree, it is easier to overindulge in them b/c the serving sizes are often not what you would think - who eat 2 oz of pasta? LOL!)> Yes, it's the carbs and eating at night that move up the scale, Noel is> so right on about that!these are exactly my downfall :(

Hey :I haven't been posting much but I will say I love optimum nutrition shakes and my magic bulletthanks for suggestion... I hope to be better but right now I am a bit over committed work and social life wise.. I am a huge hockey fan (go CAPS) and season ticket holder for DC's baseball team (nationals).. sadly I can't resist Ben's chilli dogs at the park BUT thankfully I have tickets for tonight's game and then not many until fall .. I hope to follow the 80/20 diet rule that someone mentioned... keep up good work everyonemore later.. back to work so I can go to baseball :)judyFrom: Pink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...> Sent: Tue, April 20, 2010 2:29:18 PMSubject: Cola Pop / carbs

Cola Pop, this was my downfall too! Having been vegetarian for 12 years then vegan after that, carbs were always a big part of my diet and switching over to more protein initially was a change. However, now that I'm more or less weaned off of them, I don't miss them that much! Really! What's nice about limiting (but not eliminating) carbs is that

1) the protein fills you up. I'm never hungry eating this way. 2) I felt that I would binge eat with the carbs. Eat a ton of rice, a ton of chips, several slices of bread, etc. I'm not as compelled to do this with the protein foods

3) the protein shakes, at least with Optimum Nutrition brand, taste like a desert! Easier said than done, I know. I spend a few hours preparing my weeks' meals on Sunday, but then it's all there, ready to grab-n-go.

I wish I could say that I was perfect. I have succumbed to wine and to office yum yum's but luckily not every day, and I try and make my workout extra hard that night or the next day to help a little with it.

I want to know who eats 3 ounces of steak ;-) ?

When I get snack hungry I crave crunch. Not potato chip crunch, but granola bar,

triscuit, cereal crunch. I am very thankful that I don't have my fiance's

propensity to eat an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting (I make it last for

3 or 4). But I wish I wouldn't get so crunch carb crazy late at night.

Carrots help sometimes ;-)
