Guest guest
I know of people who give their dog dried scobies as a treat or make dog kibbles out of scobies. My beautiful Irish Setter used to get terrible skin rashes when she was aging. We had to start cooking meals for her, then all was well. I am sure you will get more replies from loving dog owners. Good luck! > > Does anyone give kt to their dog? Mine has possible skin staph. Antibiotics and steroids work and then it comes back in a week or so. He likes the KT so far and laps it up. I thought it may help him stop itching. Or should I put the KT on his sores? Or a ground up scoby paste? Just wondering if anyone had any info on KT and dogs. > Thanks >

Guest guest
... KT applied, sprayed on..or ingested( they will lick it anyhow), as an aid to digestion and the removal of toxins, when chewed. Also nettle tea..makes a good rinse, licorice root, kelp, echinacea, golden seal applied directly or mixed with a little honey.Adding flex oil, or fish oil to diet.I used chopped fresh dandelions, and mix into food.. applecider vinegar is also a good rinse, good luck, Jahjet > > > > Does anyone give kt to their dog? Guest guest
I don't see any reason KT wouldn't be as effective on Mr. Dog as Mr. Human. Many of the medicines the vet gives are the same ones the MD gives, so why not KT? Guest guest
I took an older SCOBY and pureed it in the food processor. I keep it in a jar on the kitchen counter. Two weeks ago, my 14 year old golden retriever developed a nasty looking sore on the top of his muzzle. My husband tried a couple of traditional salves from the vet - nothing seemed to help it. On a whim, I gave it a good washing and then smeared the pureed SCOBY all over it. Now, after a week of doing that twice a day, the sore looks much improved. I am a believer in the power of Kombucha! Guest guest
A few years ago I had a basset hound w/the really BIG ears. One day I noticed that the middle of one ear was badly swollen, not sore to the touch, just a squishy mass. Called the vet, who informed me this is quite common among big eared dogs, caused by shaking ears & breaking blood vessels. He needed to lance the ear, but patient cages were full & I had to wait until he had a vacancy as this is apparently quite a bloody procedure. So first, I tried tying a scoby to his ear. Mission impossible. Then I started rubbing mushy spot w/scoby & then just strong kt frequently. Lump started getting smaller over nite & was gone completely in days. So not only do I use kt for my wounds, any canine in my life gets treated immediately. No cats tho. Peace.

Guest guest
Hi Vickie and EveryOne, Wonderful news and a great idea, people have used Kombucha for hot spots on dogs and put the whole colony on sore joints with great success. BTW another thing that works really well for cuts and sores is raw honey. Guest guest
Hey y'all, thanks for the answers! I will make a spray for " Mr. Dog's " welps, poor thing. I need to give him some everyday but I forget. Sometimes I put ACV in their water and they lap it up. As I sit and ponder the miracle of scoby's I wonder: Is ACV the same as KT just with cider and not tea? And I wonder how you would turn scoby's into dog kibble? Is there a recipe for that? Oh and also....I had a batch of KT bottled with bing cherries in it and I poured some in the salad dressing spray bottle with some sesame oil and sea salt....woohoo! Tasty sprayed on salads AND steamed veg n rice! (and Mr. Dog! Haha) Enjoy! When the scoby gives ya vinegar make salad dressing
