I would suggest adding ambient temperature where the brew sat during brewing

time.

Hello everyone,

I would like to keep detailed records of my home brewed KT.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the information I would record?

I'm thinking:

    Date

    Time

    Amount of water

    Amount and type of tea

    Amount of sugar

Amount (and type) of starter (vinegar or last KT brew)

Condition of baby SCOBY after brew

What else?

I keep records of the same information, plus the name of the mother (so if

something does go wrong I can track all the descendants of that mother.)(

Can you tell my other job is as a Quality Control inspector?

Hi Tavit

I did that in the beginning, when I started brewing. One thing you will quickly

learn about Kombucha is that it is Living. An example will clarify this very

statement.

If I were to give you one of MY Kombucha SCOBYs, for example. It is likely that

your and mine brews will not taste the same. Even if we were to use the same

exact proportions , same Tea, Sugar, water, vessel, Temperature but different

environment/houses. The micro-organisms in YOUR own home is always different

form that of another person thus the variations...

It doesn't mean you will not achieve a certain consistency, simply that there

are more variables in KT than the few you want to record and ultimately you will

find significant difference in brews where these parameters are the same ...

I so agree with Frantz, the variables are constantly changing.. all the time so

it always comes down to the basic tastebud test..
