Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the ideas! I am trying to be better about my sitting posture and being sure to get up and take walking and standing breaks. I have come to the conclusion that although I have strong muscles, I also have "lazy" muscles. For instance, I can do tons of ab exercises and planks (all of the assessments the chiro has done for strength reveal that I *should* not have back problems) - I can hold a plank for well over a minute - maybe even 2! But, I think because of a sedentary lifestyle (during my working hours) my muscles just have forgotten how to "fire" properly in daily activities. I'm trying to be more mindful of that and being sure I'm bracing/holding my abs in to support my back, maintaining a neutral posture, trying to engage my glutes when walking. I think as we become more sedentary our body forgets how to "use" these muslces!!! When I "exercise" I'm being more conscious overall and being sure to engage my muscles, but in "daily life" I'm not as aware. And since exercise only makes up 1 to 2 hours of my dail life it isn't enough to correct what happens the other 22 or 23 hours! I'm working on it though!Donna From: Pink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...>Subject: Donna / SI Joint Exercises Date: Tuesday, January 26, 2010, 10:56 AM Donna, I'd look on YouTube for some SI exercise demos. Also, where I work some people have their workspace configured so that they can work standing up. Could you have something like that done? Say it's for a medical reason?Hugs
