Guest guest
Oh, I should say, it doesn't have to be a psychiatrist. We'll be happy with anyone who can effectively help our kids!!!

Guest guest
Hi , Curious what was the program and who was your psychiatrist? An MFT who specializes in ocd in Escondido is Lori Riodle . She has a website you can check out (search under her name). Have you checked for providers at UCSD? The problem I have found is that most specialists do not contract with insurance. Jim hatton (psychologist) who moderates the teen ocd list is also in San Diego. Our psychiatrist does not specialize in ocd, but she is a child adolescent p-doc and she is very caring and accessible and flexible (you do not have to go through receptionsists), however she also does not contract with insurance. We seem to have more or less spectrums of ocd tourettes/trich and aspergers in our kids too. nancy grace > > We've been waiting to start the 12-20 week program for our twins. Guest guest
, how about UCLA? I know it is a drive but there is Schwartz, MD, the author of Brain Lock. I understand they have a wonderful treatment facility. If you don't want to go that far, you may contact them and see if there are referrals in San Diego. Good Luck. in TN nancy grace <nmlinnen@...> wrote: Hi , Curious what was the program and who was your psychiatrist? An MFT who specializes in ocd in Escondido is Lori Riodle . Guest guest
Hello! I have been a member for a while, but have not posted until now. (I tried to yesterday, but failed somehow.) Anyway, we see Lori Riddle- in Escondido and can also highly recommend her. My 8-year-old daughter also goes to the UCSD OCD Clinic for meds. It's only open on Wednesdays, and you can do therapy there, as well, but we're very happy with Lori. Both take insurance. Let me know if your need numbers. Guest guest
Hi , The program was a 12-20 week CBT with Brett . The kids really liked him... Finding someone who takes insurance is so difficult! I did do a search on Lori. She looks like a great option. We also got Jim Hatton's name. I'll research him as well. I hadn't done a UCSD directory search because I was truly hoping for someone who came recommended for success. These last two therapist setbacks have put getting my kids the help they need back about 7 months...sigh. Thank you again for your recommendations. I will let you know what we find. Guest guest
Hi , Great idea to contact Schwart's office at UCLA for referrals here. I will follow up that angle as well. I don't think *I* could survive regular trips to LA... Wish me luck - I'll post what we find. Thanks again!
