Guest guest
Sharon, remember that Latin is the mother of Italian. Italian is a " vulgar " [original meaning of that word is 'common'] form of Latin. It's like British English and Alabama English. Same language basically, but not quite. LOL (Hello Mel in 'Bama!!!) Any road, that's why you thought you heard your Nona talking! But then, maybe your Nona WAS talking to you as you watched the movie! Guest guest
Thanks, Laurie, it was an insightful post, and wasn't more than I wanted to hear. LOL My one comment is about the portrayal of Stan as a woman and the use of children as daemons-these are things that Ann Emmerich, the 18th century nun, saw in her visions. Gibson has stated that he relied heavily on her visions. It is shocking, though, isn't it. We NEVER think of Satan as a woman. And as for the demons being children, well, I've known a few children who would qualify. LOL _____ From: Laurie [mailto:hevnbound1@...] Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2004 1:33 PM Subject: Re: After experiencing " The Passion of the Christ " Jim wrote: keep in mind that many things in the movie are not based on scriptural > accounts, or the practice we know the Romans to have used for crucifixion or > how the Sanhedrin actually worked. I know this movie is not perfectly scriptural One more note I just have to include...the satan character. I don't understand why it was a woman when scripture is clear that Lucifer was one of the Archangels who was cast out of Heaven and was male. And it really upset me that they used children to portray demons and satans cohorts to taunt Judas

I understand that the bible says that evil won't be what we expect, so demons in child form would appear innocent but underneath you have evil. Guest guest
Mel, apparently lightening struck the set of the film 3 different times (on different days), and one of them smacked the guy who portrays Jesus. He got up and walked away, according to and interview I saw of him, yet things all around were melted. He was an agnostic before the filming began, but during the shooting of the film, he had a conversion experienced.-Many interesting things to ponder. Jim BITE BITE BITE _____ * From: MDL1031@...
